A partnership between two West Midlands manufacturing companies has helped to create 10 jobs and provide a platform for scaling-up.

Solihull-based Inventor-e has utilised PP Control & Automation outsourcing manufacturing to grow its business by 60% in the last year. It is a specialist provider of point-of-use solutions to industrial manufacturers, including Babcock International and Rexel, and the facilities management markets.

Inventor-e’s USP is through its ability to innovate industrial vending and it decided to identify a strategic manufacturing partner that could manage the build of the systems.

Andy Ingram, sales director at Inventor-E, said: “Strategic outsourcing with PP Control & Automation is allowing us to globally scale our business with a trusted partner, without the significant direct cost of setting up our own manufacturing facilities.”

A manufacturing cell has been created at PP’s south Staffordshire factory that has helped increase capacity to cope with new orders. The move has also been responsible for reducing lead times by 20%.

This transformation is creating further opportunities and Inventor-e has completed an exclusive agreement with an unnamed global distributor which it believes can lead to “game-changing” volumes for the business.

Tony Hague, chief executive of PP Control & Automation, said: “This is an ideal example of how important ‘outsourcing’ can be for technology disruptors looking to scale-up quickly.

“Inventor-e is continually developing new solutions for point-of-use vending and that’s what it needs to do to concentrate on staying at the forefront of the market.”
