People: Partner announcement at RSM; Promotions at law firm; and more

Audit, tax and consulting firm RSM has promoted Louise Tweedie to partner in Birmingham to help drive the firm’s future direction and growth strategy.

Tweedie joined the firm as a trainee in 1999 and has over 20 years’ internal audit and advisory experience. She specialises in education, working with a range of higher and further education clients, academies and independent schools. She also leads RSM’s higher education data quality team.

Law firm Clarke Willmott has announced a series of internal promotions including some in the Birmingham office.

Caroline Young who is in the family team has been promoted to associate while Petra Hantakova in the commercial property team has been promoted to senior associate.

The promotions follow continued growth at Clarke Willmott which has also seen recent and planned lateral hires.

Nationwide Clarke Willmott has internally promoted six partners, eleven associates and three senior associates.

Young has over 20 years experience in all areas of family law including financial and children matters arising from divorce and relationship breakdown, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, and complex children issues involving abuse and parental alienation.

Hantakova deals with a mixture of commercial property work. She acts for buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants in relation to commercial leases, licenses, easements and covenants and due dilligence investigations.

She also acts on freehold acquistions and disposals of large sites. Clients include national retailers, public sector bodies, lenders and investors.

An experienced employment advocate at No5 Barristers’ Chambers in Birmingham has been appointed as an employment judge by The Lord Chancellor, The Right Honourable Robert Buckland QC MP.

Adkinson will take up the role of a salaried employment judge of the Employment Tribunals (England and Wales) from Monday.

He will be assigned to the Midlands East Region in the principal hearing centre Leicester.
