New entrepreneurs’ network launches in Birmingham

A NEW network for entrepreneurs has been formed to encourage people to start their own business Birmingham.

Called StartUp Birmingham, it is being launched by national enterprise initiative StartUp Britain and Birmingham-based Diverse Entrepreneur Network (DEN).

The group is hosting an event next Tuesday in Birmingham’s Victoria Square aimed at offering advice, support and information to would-be entrepreneurs.

It is the first full-day session in a series of StartUp events taking place across the country in a bid to inspire people to launch their own ventures.

Exhibitors at the Birmingham event include AXA, Barclays, Dell and Microsoft.

A similar event is taking place on September 21 in Shropshire and the Black Country, run by another new group called StartUp West Midlands.

DEN founder Joel Graham-Blake said: “As an entrepreneur, I know what it is like not to receive the right support when you need it most, but I truly believe that Birmingham is a diverse city full of creative and ambitious people who face challenges with self-belief and passion and positively impact the economy of the region.”
