WEST MIDLANDS business leaders have welcomed the Government announcement of multibillion-pound plans for a network of High Speed Rail lines that will cut journey times from Birmingham to London to just 49 minutes.Transport Secretary Lord Adonis yesterday outlined the proposed route and the cost of an HSR line running from London to Birmingham by 2025, featuring 250mph 1,100-seater trains.
