CONSERVATIVE Party plans to block Labour’s rise in National Insurance (NI) has largely been welcomed by businesses in the West Midlands.
Branded a “tax on jobs” the Chancellor’s decision to raise NI, first announced in his pre-Budget of 2008 and then increased in April 2009, has not been popular with businesses as they come out of a recession.Under the measure proposed by the Chancellor both employees and employers will see their rates rise by 1% in April 2011.
