Law firm recognised for family-friendly initiatives

LAW firm Squire Sanders Hammonds has become the first to be recognised for its family friendly working environment.

The firm has been voted a Silver Winner in the Mumsnet Family Friendly programme, which launched earlier this year with the aim of making Britain the most family friendly country in Europe.

Users of the Mumsnet website were asked to vote for their favourite innovations and singled out Squire Sanders Hammonds’ return-to-work programme and its Fertility Treatment Assistance policy.  

The firm’s return-to-work programme allows mothers gradually to return to their contractual hours over a two-month period while continuing to receive their full contractual salary.  The programme allows them to get into a routine, becoming more used to balancing work and home, and is designed to take some of the pressures away from implementing childcare arrangements.

Squire Sanders Hammonds’ Fertility Treatment Assistance policy supports staff by offering five days paid leave for employees having to undergo fertility treatment.
