Another newspaper to launch in Birmingham

A SISTER newspaper to the recently launched Birmingham Press is due to hit the streets on Friday.

West Midlands publisher and businessman Chris Bullivant has announced that The Birmingham Free Press will go into production this week.

The news comes just two months after the part paid-for, part-free Birmingham Press was launched with its inaugural edition on April 23.

Homes and businesses in the south east and south west of Birmingham will be targeted with the new paper while The Birmingham Press is on sale across the city and delivered to the Harbourne, Moseley and Edgbaston areas.

Editor Tony Lennox said the Birmingham Free Press would have a 60,000 print run and would come out every Friday.

The move will be seen by many as a direct response to the launch of Birmingham Post Lite.

The free sister title to the weekly, paid-for Birmingham Post commenced production the day before The Birmingham Press was launched in April.
