Home Learning College lands at Lyndonplace

BIRMINGHAM-based Nurton Developments has let the entire third floor at its Lyndonplace office scheme in the city’s Sheldon suburb to Home Learning College.

The UK’s biggest provider of professional distance learning courses has taken a ten year lease for just over 6,000 sq ft, with the option to increase its space by a further 2,100 sq ft.

Home Learning College is moving its team of telephone-based course advisers from a nearby location, as a result of recent and forecasted expansion. This follows on from the British Heart Foundation taking 8,500 sq ft towards the end 2011 for its new regional headquarters. The Heart of England NHS Trust has also been a tenant of the entire fourth floor since 2009.

Phil Hullah, CEO of Home Learning College, said: “This relocation will provide an excellent working environment, along with the space for further growth of the team. News of the move has been warmly welcomed by all concerned and will take place this summer.”

Rupert Young, development director at Nurton Developments said: “Lyndonplace has been a solid performer in a very difficult market. Its location and high specification provides good quality office accommodation with parking and offers value for money on one of the main arterial routes into Birmingham city centre.”

GVA and KWB are joint agents on the building.
