SIR Michael Parkinson, one of Britain’s best-known and most respected broadcaster,s is to be the guest speaker at this year’s Journalists’ Charity lunch. This year’s event, which as usual is to raise funding for the charity, takes place at The Botanical Gardens, Edgbaston, on Friday June 22.The charity, formerly known as the Newspaper Press Fund, has been holding the lunch in Birmingham since 1993, raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for journalists in need.
