Science Capital winds up sustainable energy sector

THE latest developments in low carbon sustainable energy will be the subject of the latest Science Capital event in Birmingham.

The event, which takes place at 5.30pm on June 13 at Maple House, will focus on the biomass, solar and wind energy sectors.

Taking part will be: Brendan Bilton, from E.ON UK, which is partnering with Aston and Birmingham City universities to support low carbon R&D; Tim Jones, from Molecular Solar, a spinout company from the University of Warwick and 2011 Lord Stafford Award winner; Andreas Hornung, Professor at Aston University and Head of the European Bioenergy Research Institute; and, Graham Hygate, who founded Fine Energy and is collaborating with the University of Birmingham on implementing renewable energy solutions. Des Correia, regional leader for Arup’s Midlands operations, is chairing the event.

Science Capital said innovative technologies were particularly critical now as government policies and investment strategies were under-delivering.

Tickets for the event cost between £30-60 and include drinks reception and dinner.
