REGIONAL Growth Fund bids totalling £3.5m for projects which could create hundreds of new jobs in the area are being backed by the Marches Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP).

Three bids have been endorsed by the LEP, including £1m towards the Whitchurch Electricity Upgrade in Shropshire - a £4.5m scheme which it is estimated could create more than 900 direct and indirect jobs.
