Leamington becomes a Portas Pilot town

LEAMINGTON Spa has been chosen as one of 15 new Portas Pilot towns and will receive £100,000 to boost its retail offering.
The town plans to focus its efforts on tackling the high vacancy rate in the high street and encourage new businesses to the area.
The Portas Pilot scheme is named after retail guru Mary Portas who is working with the Government as an adviser with a remit of helping to invigorate Britain’s ailing town centres.
