WHILE the UK as a whole has seen a decline in inward investment, Birmingham has seen a marked increase.

Research from UK Trade & Investment has identified a 2% decline in the number of foreign direct investment projects into the country for 2011/12.

But Birmingham has bucked the trend by recording a 37% increase in projects during that period, according to analysis by the Marketing Birmingham Regional Observatory.
