WEST Midlands businesses exported £5.24bn worth of goods and services during the second quarter of the year - an increase of 6.2% on the same period last year.

However, on a quarterly basis the value of exports fell when compared to the first three months of 2012.

HMRC’s trade figures show that, on an annual basis, the region has exported £20.9bn worth of goods and services in the year to the end of June.
