LOCAL enterprise partnerships (LEPs) are to be given government cash as long as they can find match-funding.

The bodies, replacements for regional development agencies with a brief to create jobs in the regions, have continually called for cash for running costs and to launch projects.

Ministers have decided to give £24m to 39 groups across the country, and are hoping to get £20m of match-funding in return.
