THE management buyout of a niche holiday operator has been chosen as our Deal of the Month for September.

Private equity firm LDC supported the deal for Forest Holidays, which specialises in exclusive rural holiday accommodation.

No figure has been put on the deal but it is estimated to be more than £20m.

The MBO has allowed existing shareholder The Camping and Caravanning Club to fully exit the business, while the Forestry Commission will retain a significant shareholding.
