BIRMINGHAM City Council has described its decision to name support services and construction giant Carillion as the preferred bidder for the Birmingham Energy Savers (BES) scheme as “a major milestone” in the city’s green ambitions.

The Wolverhampton firm’s Carillion Energy Services arm is in prime position to deliver BES, a key plank in Birmingham's strategy to drive the low carbon economy and create green jobs.
