MORE than 1,100 developing businesses in the Midlands saw a change in shareholding between the second half of 2011 and first half of 2012, latest data reveals.The information compiled in the study for Barclays suggests the region is the third highest in the UK in terms of entrepreneurial activity. The Barclays Entrepreneurs Index shows the average profitability of these companies reached £1.8m - higher than the UK average of £1.7m.
