UNEMPLOYMENT in the West Midlands has risen against the UK trend, latest figures have shown.Jobless levels rose by 5,000 during the June to August period when compared with the March to May quarter. Current levels stand at 233,000, at rate of 8.6%.In the UK as a whole there are now 2.53m people unemployed, a rate of 7.9% - down 0.2% on the March to May quarter which equates to 50,000.
