BDO and PKF set to announce merger

ACCOUNTANTS and business advisers BDO and PKF will announce they are close to agreeing a merger today. Both have significant operations in Birmingham.

BDO is the UK’s sixth largest accountancy firm with fee income of £281.5m and PKF the 12th.

The deal, which was first mooted in the summer, is expected to see PKF’s UK business separated from its international operations.

TheBusinessDesk.com understands that BDO’s partners have voted for the deal and were informed that it is going ahead yesterday.

Staff in both firms were due to be informed this morning ahead of a formal announcement.

Neither BDO nor PKF were available for comment.

The Birmingham office of BDO, which is the firm’s lead for services to the manufacturing sector, is headed by Mark Anslow.

The firm last week quit as auditor to Birmingham City FC’s parent Birmingham International Holdings.
