SP Holding backs Chamber training arm

TELFORD-based utility and plant hire organisation SP Holding Group is to renew its role as principal partner of Shropshire Chamber of Commerce’s training arm.

It will continue to sponsor the Shropshire Chamber Business Academy for the next 12 months.

Officially launched last April and based in Shrewsbury, the academy aims to promote enterprise across the county by providing a range of training courses that enable firms to develop the skills of their staff. More than 60 courses covering subjects as diverse as health and safety, social media, and exporting for growth are already scheduled for this year.

As part of the on-going affiliation, the academy’s 750 sq ft lecture room, which has the capacity to hold up to 50 delegates, will continue to be named the SP Holding Theatre Room.

Richard Sheehan, managing director of Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the SP Holding Group for sharing our vision of the development of business skills across Shropshire.

“It is truly inspiring when such a successful company recognises the value of putting something back into the business community via the Chamber to provide a wider range of business benefits.”

Steve Holding, managing director of SP Holding Group, said: “SP Holding Group firmly believes in providing quality and service to its customers, offering training to all staff is an essential part of our business.

“We are looking forward to working closely with Shropshire Chamber Business Academy and their team of highly-skilled professionals.”
