Nova Training opens new centre in Redditch

A TRAINING and recruitment firm is boosting job numbers after opening a new centre in Redditch.

Nova Training, which is part of recruitment agency Staff Select Ltd, has taken a former warehouse at 1 Clive Road. It will use the facilities for long term youth training.

The firm’s operations director David Bucknall said the move would create between ten and 12 new jobs in addition to an existing workforce of 150 employed across the West Midlands.

He said: “We have already recruited five staff. Additional staff will be taken on as the provision develops.

“Building works have been completed, staff have been working in the local community and we are in the process of welcoming our first learners.”

Nova has 15 sites across Birmingham, Cannock, Dudley, Hereford, Sandwell, Stafford, Telford and Wrekin, Walsall, Wolverhampton and now Redditch.
Property agents John Truslove advised it on the move.

Director Ben Truslove said: “With skill levels being a big issue in the West Midlands, this is vital work which Nova and Staff Select are undertaking.

“Their expansion is another boost for Redditch – every job created is so important given on-going unemployment figures.”

Nova Training this year celebrated its 20th anniversary. It delivers apprenticeship programmes in motor vehicle, customer service, business administration, retail, warehousing and sales to adults and young people aged 16-18.

Its new Redditch premises feature three classrooms with IT and plasma screen TVs and a motor vehicle workshop for trainees to gain practical skills.

The new unit has been taken on a three year lease.
