Jaguar Land Rover set to expand capacity at Castle Bromwich

JAGUAR Land Rover looks set to expand capacity at its Castle Bromwich factory after acquiring land adjacent to the factory in what was until last week, a multiplex cinema.

The car manufacturer has taken over the former Showcase Cinema, which closed suddenly last week after 20 years.

JLR has made no secret it is looking for extra capacity at the plant with a clutch of new models set to roll off the production lines.

Production is now taking place on the new F-Type sports car, which is alongside work on Jaguar’s other luxury cars.

There is mounting speculation the company is on the verge of announcing a new smaller car, set to rival the BMW 3 Series and if the plan is to proceed then the extra will be needed urgently.
