Galliford Try wins contracts worth £22m in the Midlands

CONSTRUCTION group Galliford Try has announced that its Partnerships business has been named as preferred bidder for several projects in the affordable housing sector which together total in excess of £60m.

Some £22m of that amount is linked to contracts in the Midlands.

Partnerships has won a preferred bidder appointment to deliver a further extra care scheme in Cannock for Staffordshire County Council.

The £12m project will feature 64 extra care apartments, a learning disability respite unit and community hub.

A further 14 homes for social housing will be created for The Wrekin Housing Trust.

Meanwhile, North East Derbyshire District Council and housing management organisation Rykneld Homes have appointed Partnerships as preferred bidder for a £10m contract to rebuild the Tarran bungalows in Ecklington and Killamarsh.

Galliford Try chief executive Greg Fitzgerald commented: “Our Partnerships business continues to be a leading contractor of choice for registered providers and these new projects are testament to the success of our business model.

“We look forward to working with our partners to further improve levels of affordable housing across the country.”
