Mansell picks up £20m worth of construction projects in Birmingham

COLESHILL construction firm Mansell, has won 12 major construction projects from Birmingham City Council as part of the Constructing West Midlands framework.

The projects, worth £20m, are to be carried out in the city centre and suburbs including Edgbaston, Selly Oak, Stirchley, Kings Heath, Bournville and Yardley and and include school extensions, a community centre and work on homes and sheltered housing schemes.

Mansell – part of the Balfour Beatty group – will shortly begin work on a contract to relocate and upgrade Uffculme Special Education Needs School in Kings Heath.

The £3m project involves extending and refurbishing the listed Chamberlain House to provide a new school building, as well as a new entrance and remodelling work.

Mansell will also carry out a £3m refurbishment project at Bournville Baths Swimming Pool, part of the Stirchley Community Hub.

In South Yardley, Mansell will carry out work valued at £2.5m at Bierton Road Primary School. The project involves the refurbishment of existing buildings to create new primary school classrooms.

All of the projects will be delivered through the Constructing West Midlands framework, administered by Acivico, Birmingham City Council’s construction and property services arm.
