LSH appointed on £284m infrastructure fund

PROPERTY consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has been appointed by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) to advise on bids received for the £284m Local Infrastructure Fund (LIF).

The LIF, which was announced as part of the 2012 Autumn Statement, has the potential to transform infrastructure across the UK through the unlocking of stalled local projects.

It is specifically focused on accelerating the delivery of large housing sites, in addition to expanding the employment space available within Enterprise Zones across the country.

LSH will support the delivery of the LIF on a national basis; assessing the suitability of applications to the fund, reviewing proposals from potential developers and advising the HCA on the strongest bids in which to invest the funds.

Shortlisted projects have already been submitted by Enterprise zones in a number of areas including Birmingham.

Steve Hemming, regional director of planning and consultancy at LSH’s Birmingham office, said: “Our team has significant experience with large scale developments and due diligence and clearly understands the needs of the HCA in this project.

“The success of the LIF will revitalise UK infrastructure and open up some large development opportunities.”
