Event focused on trading in the UAE to be held in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM Airport chief executive officer Paul Kehoe is to join representatives from the Ajman Free Zone Authority in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and city companies to discuss opportunities for doing business in the Middle East.

The event at Birmingham Council House will take place on September 11.

Kehoe, along with Mahmoud Al Hashemi, the general manager of Ajman Free Zone Authority, and other speakers will discuss the advantages, logistics and opportunities of conducting business with free zones in Ajman and the UAE.

Al Hashemi said: “UK trading with the UAE is currently worth around £5.1bn a year and there are many lucrative opportunities available for all sectors from logistics to management media. Ajman Free Zone Authority currently has over 7,000 companies of all shapes and sizes.

“Ajman Free Zone is one of the UAE’s most rapidly developing free zones that sees investors reap benefits such as repatriation of capital and profits and no personal income tax.”

Kehoe added: “With already good connections and with more and more capacity to the UAE from Birmingham Airport, there has never been a better time for city businesses to look to expand their companies into Ajman and the Middle East.

“I’m looking forward to the Ajman Free Zone Authority High Tea Networking Event and discussing with Birmingham businesses how Birmingham Airport can support them on an international level.”
