Security group Synectics wins £5m CCTV contract from Go-Ahead

WARWICKSHIRE security and surveillance group, Synectics, has secured a £5m contract with transport company Go-Ahead to operate CCTV cameras on its large fleet of buses.

The contract will run for an initial period of three years, with the potential to be extended to 2018.

Studley-based Synectics will supply, install, maintain and support CCTV systems on Go-Ahead’s fleet of 4,600 buses. In addition, Synectics will develop an integrated software solution to combine Go-Ahead’s on-vehicle CCTV with other critical business systems which will help to reduce costs, improve efficiency and make surveillance footage easier to access and utilise.

John Shepherd, CEO of Synectics, said: “This strategically-driven partnership will enable Go-Ahead’s comprehensive CCTV equipment to deliver added business benefits. We will be using the latest technology and a specialist security control-hub to streamline the process and integrate CCTV security systems with other business critical processes.

“We are looking forward to working with Go-Ahead on this exciting project, over the next three years and beyond.”

Go-Ahead is the parent company of rail operator, London Midland. The group announced earlier this month that its bus division had delivered record operating profits of £78.2m, up 11.4%.
