Hair loss clinic chooses Calthorpe Estate for new HQ
BIRMINGHAM-based hair loss clinic, HIS Hair Clinic, has relocated its base in the city in order to support a global expansion of the business.
The move to 86 Hagley Road on the Calthorpe Estate is part of an ambitious growth strategy, which will see the business opening eight new clinics across throughout 2014. The clinics will be in the UK, Ireland and Europe, together with the United States and Canada.
Company founders, Ian Watson and Ranbir Rai-Watson, began developing their hair loss treatment in 2002 and opened the first HIS Hair Clinic in Birmingham in 2006. Since then, demand for the procedure has seen the company open clinics in New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Dubai, Marbella, London and Paris.
Watson said the expansion of the business warranted a move from its previous base in Harborne.
“HIS Hair Clinic is a rapidly expanding business, and it became clear earlier this year that we had outgrown our previous headquarters. At the same time as identifying a requirement for more space, Ranbir and I wanted to take the opportunity to move to a more high profile location and to centralise the operational side of the business,” he said.
“We required a building which enabled us to bring together our client services team and management and finance departments under one roof, together with state-of-the art clinic facilities and first class consultation rooms. We also wanted to realise our vision of establishing the world’s first dedicated SMP® Training Academy.”
He said the firm had weighed up its options and decided it wanted to retain its headquarters in Birmingham.
“Our hearts are in the city, so we are thrilled to have found a location on the Calthorpe Estate that fits with our business aspirations and also enables us to become part of the Edgbaston Medical Quarter,” he said.
“Our move to 86 Hagley Road is already making a difference to our day-to-day operations, in terms of efficiencies and staff morale, and it also provides us with a highly accessible shop front which projects a welcoming and professional environment for clients.”
