Birmingham civil engineering firm T Mullane collapses

ONE of Birmingham’s best known civil engineering and ground work firms has gone into administration.

According to Construction Enquirer, some 43 of the 50 or so employees of the King Norton-based firm have been laid off.

Its employees include site operatives, contract managers, quantity surveyors, a health and safety and plant manager, engineers and administrative personnel.

Mullane has traded for more than 25 years, working with the likes of Willmott Dixon and Shepherd Construction, usually within a 70 mile radius of its Lifford Lane base in Birmingham.

At the time of its collapse it was working for Willmott Dixon on the ground works for a block of 61 extra care flats at Abottsbury in Rugby.

James Martin and Mark Newman, partners in accountancy firm Crowe Clark Whitehill’s CCW Recovery Solutions arm, are handling the administration.
