Specialist recruiter Fircroft closes in on £1bn annual turnover figure

RECRUITMENT firm Fircroft, which has an operation in Solihull, has reported its most successful year of trading as revenue increase by 24% year on year to £898m.

And profit before tax in 2013 was up by 64% to £22.6m.

The Warrington-based business natural resource and engineering recruitment firm has clients in the oil & gas, power & energy, automotive, mining & minerals and engineering sectors. 

It operates in 60 countries, employs more than 600 people and supports more than 8,000 contract workers worldwide.

The company was backed in June 2012 by Equistone Partners Europe in a deal worth £140m.

Johnathan Johnson, CEO, said: “We delivered significant growth in 2013 as our turnover reached £898m, enabling us to increase our market share and closing in on £1bn turnover. 

“We plan to continue the upward momentum by investing in and further expanding our global operations in the Middle East and Asia Pacific, which are key priority locations for us in 2014.”

These results mark the end of a successful year for Fircroft which achieved its first placing in the Sunday Times Top Track 100, reaching 85th in the league table which ranks Britain’s 100 private companies with the biggest sales.

Fircroft also won ‘Recruitment Company of the Year’ in the over £50m turnover category at the APSCo 2013 Awards.

The latest financial results follow the appointment of Stuart Hall, as chief finance officer (CFO) in September last year. He joined Fircroft from PACE, a global electronics consumer company.
