Sweet smell of success as Cadbury World smashes visitor numbers for third year in a row

BOURNVILLE-based tourist attraction, Cadbury World, is celebrating a third consecutive year of record-breaking visitor numbers.

Last year, the popular family attraction welcomed more than 668,000 visitors beating 2012’s all-time high of annual visitor numbers. Organisers said this demonstrated Cadbury World’s ability to continue to draw in new and returning visitors each year.

The success looks set to continue throughout 2014 with the attraction already welcoming over 30,000 visitors since it opened last month, a 5% increase on 2013’s footfall to date.

Last month also saw the attraction open a brand new Cadbury Café in partnership with its new caterers, Amadeus – part of the NEC Group. The themed restaurant comes complete with life-size Cadbury Dairy Milk cows and features a new menu offering a selection of Cadbury inspired dishes.

Gerrard Baldwin, general manager at Cadbury World, said: “We have a strong focus on visitor satisfaction and as a result are constantly evolving and improving elements of the attraction. Over the last few years we’ve introduced a brand new outdoor play area and also recruited a team of actors and it’s fantastic to see the results of this reflected in our growing visitor numbers.”
