West Midlands Business Masters Awards 2014 launched

THIS week saw the launch of TheBusinessDesk.com’s popular West Midlands Business Masters Awards for 2014.

And this year there are twice as many awards that you can enter.

This year our key Manufacturer and Exporter categories are split into two to reward both SMEs and larger businesses and other new awards for 2014 are Apprentice Scheme, Employer of the Year, Listed Business and Fast Growth Business.

Our popular Pride, Innovator, Newcomer and Ambassador categories remain in place.

All entries – and you can nominate your own business or someone else’s – will go in front of our eminent panel of judges in early May and the short lists, from which the winning entries will be announced on the night, will be made public soon after.

Entries need to be in by April 11.

The winners will be announced at a gala awards dinner at Edgbaston Stadium on Wednesday June 18.

And the Masters’ USP that all the short-listed companies will be interviewed on the night remains intact.

Last year’s winners included aerospace components manufacturer Bromford Industries in the Exporter category and automotive sector supplier Sertec Group in the Manufacturer category.

Beverley Nielsen, director of employer engagement at Birmingham City University, was crowned the winner in the Ambassador category.

Andy Coyne, editor of TheBusinessDesk.com in the Midlands, said: “We’re very excited about the changes we have made to this year’s Masters Awards.

“Moving the event to the evening means that we’ve got more time and so we have expanded the award categories to reward different size and type of businesses and also to judge companies on their merits as employers.

“In the past few years some of the most dynamic businesses in the region have prospered in our awards and we fully expect that to be the case again this year.

“I look forward to receiving and reading all your entries. Good luck.”

Our panel of judges and the event’s co-host will be named in due course.
