Exports push for Dunlop Aircraft Tyres with new sales manager

BIRMINGHAM-based Dunlop Aircraft Tyres has expanded its team with the appointment of Patrice Moreau as general sales manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Reporting to sales and marketing director David Skepper, Moreau joins with more than 19 years’ experience in commercial and business aviation.

Moreau started at Bombardier Aerospace where he successfully concluded the sales of the company’s first Dash 8 Q400 and CRJ700 regional aircraft while the programmes were still in their design phases.

He also spent nine years supporting Bombardier’s business aviation division, working with civilian and military operators as well as MROs around the world. More recently, he was commercial manager, continental Europe, for Barnes Aerospace in Derby, UK.

“Patrice will be responsible for supporting a team of technical sales managers who are at the coalface winning new business and ensuring that we continue to satisfy existing customers,” said Skepper.

“We are confident that his leadership skills and vast aerospace industry sales experience will enable the company to build on its recent success in the both the commercial and military sectors.”

Dunlop, the world’s only dedicated aircraft tyre manufacturer and retreader, exports more than 80% of its UK-made products.

Kimberley-Jane Design helps promote Commonwealth entrepreneurs

BIRMINGHAM-based, Kimberley-Jane Design has sealed a substantial deal with the Commonwealth Business Council. The design agency has been appointed to provide the build and design of a new platform for the Commonwealth Business Women Network.

Commonwealth Businesswomen works to strengthen the potential of female entrepreneurs and businesswomen through its strong support network and mentoring capabilities.

The first stage involves the establishment of a dedicated web site which will link into a new digital platform and integrate with  BusinessXchange.co.uk. This aims to encourage an international pipeline through which businesswomen can connect, collaborate and do business across the 53 countries of the Commonwealth.

Kimberley-Jane Leary, managing director of Kimberley-Jane Design, said: “As a female business owner the success of this project and its agenda is extremely important to me. Since launching Kimberley-Jane Design I have worked closely with female start-ups all the way through to board level. It’s essential this support and investment in female entrepreneurs is sustained as it is crucial for a thriving global economy.”

The project is a result of extensive consultation with businesswomen, policy-makers and companies over the last 2 years and has strong support from businesswomen, policy-makers and companies across the Commonwealth.

Lavendon Group boosts Middle East operation with new MD

LAVENDON Group has announced the appointment of Paul Rankin as managing director of its Middle East business, Rapid Access. Rankin replaces Andy Wright who left the organisation in September last year.

Rankin, formerly of Johnson Controls International, is a veteran of the Middle East region, having been based with the company in Dubai since 2004. He originally joined JCI as country manager for their Unitary Products before taking up the role of regional executive director with responsibilities across United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait.

Prior to his tenure with Johnson’s, Rankin carried out a number of sales and business management roles within the air conditioning industry across the UK. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Building Services Engineering as well as an MBA from Strathclyde University gained in 2004.
