Jobs created at new Stafford Land Rover dealership

A NEW motor dealership set to deliver new jobs to Stafford has taken its next step forward with a ground-breaking ceremony.

Family firm Swansway has invested £6m in Stafford Land Rover’s state of the art new dealership, which is being built on a three acre site at Prime Point, just off Junction 14 of the M6.

Swansway bought Stafford Land Rover, currently based at Astonfields Road, in July 2012. The business will be looking to take on new apprentice technicians and strengthen its sale team at the new site.

Plans were unveiled 18 months ago and the recent ground-breaking ceremony was attended by the chairman of Conlon Construction, Michael Conlon, Swansway directors David Smyth and Peter Smyth, dealer principal at Stafford Land Rover Darren Poole and Paul Brittan, Jaguar Land Rover franchise manager.

Poole said: “This is the biggest investment ever by Swansway and demonstrates the excellent working relationship we have with Land Rover.

“We started on the land last month and with a 36 to 40 week build and fit out that means we should be up and running by November.

“This is such an exciting time for Stafford Land Rover. Our new premises will be a state of the art, modern dealership with a bigger showroom and high-tech workshop.”
