Local jeweller convicted of hallmarking offences

A BIRMINGHAM jeweller has been sentenced to eight months imprisonment, suspended for 18 months, and ordered to pay a total of £25,000 after pleading guilty to 17 offences relating to jewellery offences.

Amjad Mahmood Yousif, trading as Crown Jewellers at 39 Formans Road, Sparkhill, was also ordered to pay £11,281 in costs, a further £13,718 under the Proceeds of Crime Act and to complete 120 hours unpaid work, during the sentencing at Birmingham Crown Court.
