Stratford hotel boosts conference facilities with £0.5m upgrade

A WARWICKSHIRE hotel has invested more than £500,000 in an upgrade to its facilities to help it capture a bigger slice of the meetings, conference and events market.

The renovation to the Macdonald Alveston Manor Hotel, near Stratford-upon-Avon, which began in early 2014 is now complete.

The work has transformed the hotel’s Manor Bar, lounge area and meetings space, with some meeting rooms upgraded to executive boardrooms.

The hotel’s largest banqueting suite, The Cedar Room – which is rumoured to have been the setting for the first performance of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream – has also had a full refurbishment.

Situated in its own grounds, close to the town centre, the four-star hotel is one of Warwickshire’s leading conference, events and weddings venues. It is a past winner of the Pride of Stratford Business of the Year award.

Sam Aziz, general manager of the hotel, said: “Meetings and conferences are an important way of attracting businesses to Stratford-upon-Avon. We get bookings from many businesses who want to hold their events in an historic location.

“We hope that this significant investment will attract more business and leisure guests to the hotel.”

The venue has also invested in a new refreshment area for meetings and conference delegates, landscaping of the hotel’s grounds, new floodlights, signage and the planting of more trees to enhance its stunning grounds.

“The refurbishment has been very exciting for our team, from having Gerry Thompson design our new bar area, to investing a significant amount on our new state of the art gym facilities. We’re looking forward to welcoming guests,” added Aziz.
