Logistics company opens 21,000 sq ft base in Tamworth

FREIGHT carrier Redhead International has opened a new 21,000 sq ft facility in Tamworth.

The firm’s new depot will have  direct daily services to Ireland, France and Germany and will also also run services to other European destinations.

Readhead – which is headquartered in Yorkshire – says it has ambitious plans to further develop business opportunities and facilitate growth and investment, as well as create jobs.

Tony Suggitt, Redhead’s managing director, said: “The Midlands has been an important part of the company’s plans for many years. It remains at the heart of the UK’s recovering economy and we can see demand for services, particularly our daily services to Germany, France and Ireland growing.”

“An increasing number of companies in the Midlands are developing their international presence and, as a result, they are looking for an alternative flexible logistics partner. We hope Redhead can be that partner.”

Redhead International, established in 1978, employs more than 230 people internationally.

Its current turnover is more than £34m.
