Rolls-Royce says aloha to Hawaiian Airlines following aircraft deal

MIDLANDS aerospace giant Rolls-Royce has welcomed the news that Hawaiian Airlines has selected six Airbus A330-800neo aircraft powered by its Trent 7000 engine.
 
The new aircraft will replace six A350-800 aircraft that the airline has on order.
 
Mark Dunkerley, Hawaiian Airlines’ president and CEO, said: “We look forward to operating the Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 on the A330-800neo.

“As an operator of the Trent 700 on our A330-200s and the BR715 on our Boeing 717s, Rolls-Royce and Hawaiian have long been good partners and we are pleased that this partnership will grow.”
 
Eric Schulz, Rolls-Royce president – civil large engines, said: “We welcome Hawaiian’s decision to select the A330neo, powered by our Trent 7000 engines.

“Hawaiian has experience of operating Trent 700 engines and we now look forward to delivering a step change in performance and economics with the Trent 7000.”
 
The Trent engine family has accumulated more than 75m flight hours over the last 19 years.
