Land Rover launches teaser film on new Discovery Sport

LAND ROVER has revealed a first look inside its new Discovery Sport vehicle with the release of a short film showing glimpses of the cabin design.

So far the company has shown off little of the new vehicle, which is likely to be a showcase for the firm’s latest advanced technology.

JLR has been keen to highlight this throughout the development stage – even going so far as to link it to a collaboration with Virgin Galactic’s spaceship.

The new premium, compact SUV, which will be launched next month, is the first member of the new Discovery family. The vehicle is inspired by the Discovery Vision Concept and will feature the versatile 5+2 seating as standard in the UK.

In the film, viewers are shown around the new Discovery Sport’s interior as the camera glides through the cabin. The footage reveals details of the flexible, likely to be class leading seating layout and shows such desirable features as a full panoramic roof.

Gerry McGovern, Design Director and Chief Creative Officer said: “Versatility is a fundamental element of the Discovery family and with 5+2 seating, generous load space and configurable seating the new Discovery Sport truly deserves to wear the Discovery badge.”

The new vehicle is being manufactured at JLR’s plant at Halewood on Merseyside and the company has supported the development with a major investment into the plant and the creation of 250 new jobs.

The new Discovery Sport will be unveiled to the world on September 3.
