HydraForce to build factory at Advanced Manufacturing Hub

HYDRAULIC manufacturing firm HydraForce is to build a new factory in Aston, Birmingham, which will create hundreds of new jobs.

The firm, which already employs 280 people at a nearby site, has been searching for a location for a new, larger facility for several months and has chosen the Advanced Manufacturing Hub, which is land made available by Birmingham City Council for one of its economic zones, which are intended to boost inward investment and create jobs.

Work will start on HydraForce’s new 120,000 sq ft facility next month.

The firm’s expansion plans have been made possible by a £1.8m grant from the Government’s Regional Growth Fund.

HydraForce, which is headquartered in Chicago, has been in Birmingham for 25 years.

The firm now exports more than 80% of its manufactured goods and over the last year has seen a substantial increase in demand, hence the need for a larger facility.

It also has manufacturing facilities in North America and Asia.
