LEP offers Black Country SMEs funding support

THE Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership is staging a further event to try and marry up funders to SMEs needing finance in order to capitalise on growth opportunities.

The event, which takes place on Thursday September 25 at Wolverhampton Racecourse, is the third in the LEP’s Meet the Funder series.

“The BCLEP, and its partners, are dedicated to removing barriers to business growth and acknowledge that those barriers can sometimes be financial. The Meet the Funder event is designed to provide businesses with the knowledge to choose the most appropriate source for funding projects, from thousands to millions of pounds and hear impartial advice to help decide on the funding streams most suitable to the needs of your business,” it said.

The event is designed to allow firms to decide source of funding is right for their needs and those attending the event will be able to speak to a range of financial providers and advisors.

The event will include an overview of government backed funding streams launched or due to be launched, case studies from local companies who have completed the journey after receiving funding, the opportunity for one-to-one meetings to discuss specific funding options and the chance to speak with a range of banks and non-bank lenders.

The LEP said that while funding options would be discussed no decisions on applications would be given on the day.

The event begins at 8am and will then be repeated in the afternoon from 1pm.
