Edgbaston reveals details of Ashes Test Match tickets

EDGBASTON has announced ticket details for next year’s Ashes test match between England and Australia.

Tickets for game, which will be the third in the Investec Ashes series, will go on general sale to all supporters at 10am on Monday (September 15).

The game, which takes place in the school summer holidays between Wednesday July 29 and Sunday August 2, is expected to generate a lot of interest. Tickets have already been on advance sale to members and the third day is almost a sell-out already.

It is a decade on from the historic match of the 2005 Ashes series which so captured the imagination of the English public. England eventually won the game by the narrowest of margins – just two runs and it triggered a 2-1 series win that saw the historic urn return home for the first time in more than 20 years.

The 2015 series takes on added significance because England will once again be out for revenge after beating white-washed 5-0 during a horrendous series in Australia last winter.

Colin Povey, Chief Executive of Warwickshire County Cricket Club, said: “The Ashes is the most important Test series in the world, and hosting the third match is fantastic for Birmingham and for more than 100,000 cricket fans that we expect to accommodate across the scheduled five days.

“Warwickshire members and sponsors have had priority to buy tickets since the start of August and, as a result, we’re already approaching a sell out for Day Three. We recommend that all supporters book early to avoid missing out on what’s arguably the biggest sporting event in Birmingham in 2015.”

Tickets for the match are priced from £66 for a day.

From Monday, supporters will also be able to buy tickets for the 2015 England v New Zealand one day international, which takes place on Tuesday June 9, and the NatWest T20 Blast Finals Day, which will be held on Saturday August 29 and for which the club will be hoping for a repeat of this season’s competition, which saw the Birmingham Bears claim their first T20 title.
