Persimmon secures planning permission for £13m Coventry development

REGIONAL housebuilder Persimmon Homes South Midlands has secured planning permission for a new £13m residential development in Coventry.

The company will build 100 new homes on the unoccupied land following a reserved matters planning approval from Coventry City Council.

The 6.9 acre site, off Holbrook Way, will feature a collection of two, three and four bedroom properties in a range of designs.

Andy Peters, managing director, Persimmon Homes South Midlands, said: “Our investment in Coventry forms an integral part of our expansion programme to bring further new homes to the region to meet the growing demand.”

The land, formerly occupied by a joinery works, was cleared in 2004 after a fire destroyed the buildings resulting in an end to trading for the business and has subsequently remained vacant.

Construction at the site is scheduled to begin this month with properties being marketed for sale from March 2015.
