Wragges calls on BT for new operations director

BIRMINGHAM-based law firm Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co has appointed a new operations director in the shape of BT executive Andrew Edginton.

Edginton, who has worked for the law firm before, is currently finance director for an operating unit at BT Business (BTB), a £3.5bn division of BT plc.

He will take up his new role at Wragges next week.

Reporting directly to Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co’s chief executive David Fennell, Edginton will have overall responsibility for the operational strategy of the business and the implementation of that strategy across its UK and international offices.

Fennell said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Andrew back. So much has happened since he was last with us, including a very successful merger in May this year.

“Our immediate priorities are to retain and grow our client relationships, fully integrate our two businesses and improve profitability and business efficiency.

“Andrew’s role will be pivotal to the firm’s continued growth. The knowledge and experience he has gained will bring a fresh perspective to our business, and will go towards creating a stronger platform from which to pursue further growth and meet the needs of a diverse client base.”

Edginton said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time to be re-joining the firm and I’ve enjoyed watching its many successes from the sidelines over the last eight years.

“I’m now looking forward to using my knowledge and industry experience to help take the business forward, with an efficient and effective operational strategy at its core.”

Edginton, who has more than 15 years’ commercial experience, has a strong track record in the financial sector having held a number of senior management roles.

Prior to his role at BT, he spent three years at npower as head of controlling.

He spent four years as divisional financial controller at Wragge & Co, as it was then, from 2003.
