Coventry & Warks LEP seeks European funding delegates

THE Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership is looking for representatives to join a group which will be responsible for allocating £116m of European Funding.

The partnership has been asked to work with its local Department of Communities & Local Government CLG representative to start the process of forming a ‘European Structural & Investment Fund Local Management Committee, which will be a sub-committee of the National Growth Programme Board.

Representatives from business, the voluntary and community sector, equalities and the rural sector have been invited to put forward applications by Friday, October 24.

Roger Dowthwaite, of the CWLEP, said the body was working with partners to establish the LMC and make the best use of the funds in keeping with the aims highlighted in its ESIF strategy.

“We want the committee to represent our partners to ensure our local strategic aims delivered,” he said.

“This is a significant sum of money and the group will be responsible for ensuring that the maximum impact is achieved whilst ensuring a contribution to the nationwide operational programme is achieved.

“The committee will be responsible for ensuring the activity designated by the funds is delivered, overseeing the development of a constant pipeline of proposals, agreeing investments and then monitoring performances against targets drawn up by the LEP.”

The appointments will be for three years and the committee will meet between four and 12 times each year depending on the implementation stage of the programme.
