Investment firm Quilter Cheviot moves to Two Snowhill

INVESTMENT management firm Quilter Cheviot, which has just celebrated 20 years in Birmingham, has taken a lease at Two Snowhill in the city’s central business district.

The company says the move from offices in nearby Bennetts Hill reflects its recent and anticipated growth.

It follows the announcement last week of the acquisition of Quilter Cheviot by Old Mutual Wealth for a consideration of up to £585m. The firm will become the South African financial giant’s discretionary investment management business.

Quilter Cheviot’s Birmingham base is the largest regional office of its UK-wide network, managing some £1.6bn of funds for private clients, charities and trusts.

It now employs 44 people in the city.

Head of office Sean Raftery said: “It seems fitting we should need a new office exactly 20 years after setting up in the city back in 1994, when Sir Norman Fowler opened our first office, and we should be moving in within days of the Old Mutual Wealth announcement.

“The coming together of these businesses will, however, enable our clients to benefit from improved access to existing and new solutions from Old Mutual Global Investors’ award-winning asset management capability.”
