Katherine Innes Ker quits S&U to chair Mortgage Advice Bureau

WELL-KNOWN Midlands business figure, Katherine Innes Ker, is to leave her position as non-executive director with Solihull-based credit firm S&U to assume a new role as chairman of Mortgage Advice Bureau.

Derby-based MAB is the subject of a forthcoming IPO. It is an award-winning mortgage broker with more than 600 advisers across the UK.

S&U chairman Anthony Coombs said: “We thank Katherine Innes Ker for her enthusiasm and wise advice and we wish her well at Mortgage Advice Bureau. S&U will be making an appointment in due course.”

MAB arranges approximately £8bn worth of mortgages per annum.

Ms Innes Ker is one of the region’s most experienced business figures and her services have been in high demand down the years.

She is a former NED of builder Taylor Wimpey and also served as chair of Kidderminster-based carpet manufacturer Victoria for eight months during a turbulent period in to the company’s recent history.

She is currently a NED at telecoms and data firm Colt Group, and is also senior independent director at transport group Go-Ahead, operator of the London Midland franchise.

She is also a former NED at regeneration specialist St Modwen, a position she left in March last year.

She had been a NED at S&U since March 2013.
