Commercial vehicle supplier Fraikin secures seven-figure deal with Midland butcher

COVENTRY commercial vehicle supplier, Fraikin, has secured a seven-figure deal to supply 43 new trucks to the UK’s largest catering butcher.

The four-year full-service contract hire agreement will see Fraikin provide vehicles for Derby-based Fairfax Meadow’s UK distribution operation.

Operating out of Fairfax Meadow’s seven UK depots, the new vehicles will distribute the company’s large range of meat products to a network of customers across the UK.

The agreement marks the fifth time the firm has renewed its order with Fraikin in a partnership now stretching back more than 18 years.

The new order replaces the 15 vehicles ordered in 2010, and it will see between 75 and 80% of Fairfax Meadow’s entire fleet supplied and serviced by Fraikin.

Peter Backhouse, Fraikin CEO, said: “Our deep relationship and detailed understanding of how Fairfax Meadow operate, combined with our expert industry knowledge and unique tailored approach, allowed us to create a high value solution which met their exacting requirements.”

Mike Reid, Group National Transport Manager at Fairfax Meadow, said: “We are delighted to be on our fifth renewal cycle with Fraikin and our latest commitment to 43 new vehicles will provide a significant bolstering of our fleet.”

As part of the latest contract hire agreement, Fairfax Meadow will for the first time also take on four refrigerated trailers that will go into service in November.

Established in 1978, Fraikin is one of the UK’s largest commercial vehicle fleet services companies, providing contract hire, fleet management and rental services to both the private and public sector.
