JLR is driving success of West Midlands property market – CPBigwood

THE trickle-down effect of Jaguar Land Rover’s continuing success is rippling through the West Midlands property, local agents have said.

Louise Kean, associate partner residential lettings for CPBigwood, said it was one of the key drivers of accelerating activity.

“All our offices in the Midlands – Birmingham, Stratford-upon-Avon and Henley-in-Arden have seen the results,” she said.

“The JLR story is just amazing.

“The commitment to investment, research and development, engineering excellence and an ever-changing model range has seen JLR capture the imagination of purchasers – people want to buy the cars it is making.

“With expansion at Solihull, and a new engine plant nearing completion at the i54 site near Wolverhampton, it continues to be all systems go.

“Thousands of new jobs have been created and these new employees need somewhere to live.

“It has all given a huge boost to the rental market and, given JLR’s impressive reputation, landlords are queuing up to be of service.”

She said one spin-off is an increasing demand for furnished accommodation with busy executives needing a one-stop-shop service.

“Automotive staff have enough on their plate without chasing around on their property needs,” she said.

Kean cited lets to American and Italian personnel as JLR hires from all over the world.

“We need more properties and more landlords to satisfy demand. JLR is thriving and that is tremendous news for the West Midlands property market,” she said.
